As the leading individual pensions and life insurance company in Turkey, AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat A.Ş. has been founded on the 31st of October 2007 by the merger of AK Emeklilik A.Ş. and Aviva Hayat Emeklilik A.Ş. The merger agreement between Ak Emeklilik, one of the participations of Aksigorta within the body of Sabancı Holding and Aviva Hayat ve Emeklilik A.Ş., the enterprise of UK-based insurance giant Aviva plc in Turkey, has been announced to public on the 8th of June 2007.

Shares of AvivaSA are composed of 49,7 per cent Aviva plc., 49,7 per cent Aksigorta and other partners’ shares.

AvivaSA has approximately 1,5 million customers in individual pension and life insurance businesses.

• Bank Direct Sales: "Bank Direct Sales" will reach Akbank customers and introduce them with individual pension and life insurance products.
• Direct Sales: This is a distribution channel targeting customers from various socio-economic levels out of the bank, through Financial Advisors.
• Bank Branches: "Bank Branches" will provide individual pension products to the customers through branch customer representatives within the frame of bancassurance along with other banking products.
• Agencies and Corporate Sales Power: Current agencies and corporate sales power of AvivaSA will continue to exist.

Funds of AvivaSA are managed by one of Sabancı Group companies, AK Portföy, which is one of the biggest in portfolio management sector.

As of 12th December 2008, pension funds over 1,3 billion YTL and leadership in the sector with 22.68% market share.

As the end of October 2008, total life insurance premium production worth of YTL 118.352.528 and the third rank in the sector with 8.77% market share.
